This is a workshop for youth practitioners who want to increase their skills in working with youth in out-of-school time settings.
Join APOST and Pittsburgh Parks Rx at the Frick Environmental Center to learn how spending time outdoors can support physical and mental wellness. Explore how to plan engaging experiences that nurture a connection to nature by incorporating active play and mindful reflection. Participants will try out activities, share ideas, and receive tools and resources to help you connect youth with nature in parks or any outdoor space!
About Parks Rx: Pittsburgh Parks Prescription (Parks Rx) aims to support the health and well-being of children and families by encouraging regular park use and contact with nature. Park prescribes through three pathways (school, community, and clinical settings) provide resources, guidance, and programming opportunities to participants.
A light lunch will be provided, and there will be free parking on site.
